My wife has bought flowers for me in the past and although I loved the thought I think that I much rather would have prefered a new pocket knife or flashlight. But hey, thats just me.

Guys and flowers, whadda ya think??
by Super_Becka inalright, i'm looking for some opinions from the male portion of our jwd audience.. i'm in a long-distance relationship, like i've said here a million times before, so doing special things for my guy is kinda hard.
not only is it long-distance, it's international, too.
we're 3500 miles apart and i'm a starving student, so i can't just swing by for a visit to do something special for him on the fly.. last semester, i sent him a bunch of flowers in his favourite colour, a special "i miss you" bouquet from a local florist that i found online.

SOME GENUINE QUESTIONS FOR PMJ
by diamondblue1974 ini have some genuine questions for you pmj which i hope you will take the time to answer;
i was brought up as a witness and left over a decade ago; i have always struggled with these points and hope you can provide an explanation.
the main answer to the questions in relation to wickedness being permitted is that jehovah is proving satan to be a liar (in other words to prove a point).

Good job DB , although I think that PMJ would have been the only one confused.

Well thought out DB. The only problem is that you are telling PMJ that you have ONE question for him/her when in fact you have several. Don't you think this will be confusing for him/her?

No JWs in sight....what happened to them?
by kid-A ini have been living in my new house since november.
i have been home every weekend, saturday and sunday mornings.
i live in a big city, in a densely housed area.. there has not been a single jw door-knocker this entire time!!!!

I've lived in my current house for over five years now. It's a suburb of an average size city with blocks and blocks of city lot property. It's a JW's dream territory. I have had one single JDub stop by in that time period. This doesnt include the times that my JDub mother stopped by with and elder or had one of her JDub friends stop by to invite me to the memorial.

JW's at your door
by kls inlast saturday my brother in law answered his door to a man that asked " are you worried about the environment and pollution"?
my brother in law said" yes i am " .
as they chatted for a few moments ,the man at the door reached into his briefcase case and pulled out his bible.

Sure, It's a way to catch people off guard. When you see someone at your door in a suit and tie carrying a briefcase you automatically assume its a JDub. However when the first thing they say is enviornmental, political, or sociological in nature it opens up a limited window of time for them to try to get thier foot in the door.

Comments You Will Not Hear at the 2-12-06 WT Study (Righteousness)
by blondie in25-29)(righteousness).
is this the only example of how a young woman can seek righteousness first, .
3. what is righteousness?

Thanks again for the article Blondie. It's kind of ironic that now as a free and critical thinking adult I enjoy reading the WT study article while sipping some tea on Sunday mornings. As a child growing up in the cult reading that literature was tantamount to torture.
Billyboy, I dont think that any one here can argue against your point. Blondie's articles are indeed criticism in its purest form. So what? If you dont like it or if it offends you, dont read it. Simple, right?

Advice is to Beat the kids......still!
by Gill inthis is the watchtower for april 1, 2006, page 9.. 'parents be a fine example for your children.'.
'....of course, children are children, and some are prone to be contrary, even wayward.
(genesis 8:21) what can parents do?

I was spanked as a child. Never beaten. I knew I had broken the rules and I knew what was going to happen. I was never spanked at the KH. Always at home in private.
My mother was the one who normally administered the punishment. Once she had my fater do it. The poor guy had no idea what he was doing because he had never done it before. He probably didn't want to be in this situation either. He bends me over and gives me a quick wack with the belt. I jumped up laughing because it did'nt hurt at all. I told him smiling "that didn't hurt!" Well needles to say that immediately there after I got the spanking of a life time from my old man.
